Shiseido, as the name would suggest is from a Japanese deign house. Shisedo is a cosmetics and hair care company that was founded in 1872. Although the design house is Japanese, the name is actually derived from a Chinese word that translates as ‘praise the virtues of the great Earth which nurtures new life and brings forth new values’. The founder of Shiseido was a Head Pharmacist called Arinobu Fukuhara. He founded the design house in 1872 with the concept of ‘East meets West’. A family business, Arinobu’s son was the first president of Shiseido. In 1965, their first fragrance Zen was released. Shiseido has fast become a house hold name and have combined forces with amny well known names such as Serge Lutens who later went on to produce fragrances under the Shiseido umbrella. Shiseido have gone on to release 23 fragrances. They have collaborated with many well known perfumers sucj us Pierre Bourdon, Claudette Belnavis and Michel Almairac. Over they varied collection of fragrance, Shiseido promise to have a fragrance suitable for everyone and for every occasion. These fragrances have all got classic accords that combine to create truly original and unique fragrances. With 23 to choose from, it could be difficult to find a favourite.
